The DDCSP Collaborative was a two-year experiential conservation training program for undergraduates interested in careers in conservation and in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the field. Key program elements included applied field research projects, professional internships, mentoring, and strong professional networks. Scholars learned a variety of field techniques along with research and presentation skills. Students were also equipped with the skills to foster inclusivity and equity in conservation by engaging in meaningful discourse on leadership, effective communication, creative problem-solving, and the social and structural factors shaping the field.
